Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel

AIM:

For the given component, checking for the geometrical errors and meshing with the given element Quality criteria. After meshing the component the thickness has been assigned.

PROCEDURE:

  • Importing the given CAD into the BETA ANSA Software.
  • Checking for the geometerically errors thrown and trying it to fix,to attain a clean geometry.

  • The geometerically clean-up is done.

  • Now randomly the thickness of the component is measured to extract mid surface by using offset option.
  • After measuring for the thickness the offset operation is performed one by one since auto mid can't be peformed as it is a complex entity, and has many different entities in it.
  • The mid surface extraction is done.

  • After extraction of mid-surface switching the module from TOPO to Meshing module to start meshing.
  • Before meshing intiates the quality criteria and mesh parameters as to given.

  • After inputting the quality criteria and mesh parameters by using best and spot mesh option the meshing operation can be done.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  1.  Learned Dog house capturing as "Cross pattern" in Mid surface since dog houses are solid (Hollow from inside) and is not having any thickness.
  2. Learned the geometerical fixation for coplex component.
  3. Learned how to extract the mid-surface for the complex component.

CONCLUSION:

The given instrument Panel model was midsurfaced and meshed as per requirements and due to many small regions and boundary restrictions due to rib placements, there are some unavoidable off elements.Ensured mesh flow was as good as possible.
