Project 1

AIM – The aim of our is that, to Calculate the dead load , IRS live loads , Earth pressure load , wind load and seismic

loads for the bridge structure at Ahmedabad Metro rail and Create the model in Staad Pro and analysis the Structure.

INTRODUCTION – The Detail of Project for the bridge structure at Ahmedabad Metro rail Given below.

Assume the unit weight of soil as 18 kN/m3

The Span of the Bridge is 10m

Width of Bridge is 22m

Height of Bridge is 20m

PROCEDUCE IN DETAIL:-

STEP1:- First create the node and select the add beam Command and create the beam.

STEP2:- Then, Select the beam then go to the translation repeat Command and create the beam .

Step3:- After Create the model then go the support command create the fixed supports and assign the supports.

Step4:- After Create the support then go to the properties command and select geometry and assign the properties.

Step5:- Then Calculate the dead load

Dead load of slab =width*thickness* Unit weight

dead load for 1 slab=22*1*25

=550 kn/m2

dead load for 2slab=22*1.2*25

=660 kn/m2

dead load for 1 slab=10*0.7*25

=175 kn/m2

dead load for 1 slab=22*2*25

=1100 kn/m2

IRS live loads Metro rail given by IRC is

170
170 2.15
170 2.2
170 12.4
170 2.2

Then Calculate Earth pressure load

Earth Pressue =Ka Yh

=0.5 (Ysoil-Ywater)*20

=0.5*(18-10)*20

=80 kN/m2

Then Calculate the wind load as per IS code 875 part III 2015

DESIGN WIND SPEED Vz =V*K1*K2*K3*K4

K1 is Probability factor

K2 is Height Factor

K3 is Topography Factor

K4 is Importance Factor

Vb is Wind Speed

According to IS Code 875 part III 2015 Appendix A page No 96 WInd Speed of city 39 m/s

All Value taken by IS Code 875 part III 2015 according to the our project

K1=1

K2=1.2

K3=1

K4=1

Vz= 39*1*1.2*1*1

= 46.8m/s

Wind Pressue= 0.6*Vz2

=0.6*46.8

=1314.144N/m2

=1.3144kN/m2

Then Calculate seismic load as per IS code 1893

Step6:- After go to the Load Cases and step by step to create the load into the model

Step8:- Then slave the file and assign run analysis

Step9:- Then Check the Deflection, displacement and all deformation on the structural element

RESULT:-

Axial force of model

Shear force Y of model

Shear force Z of model

Torsion of model

Bending Y of model

Bending Z of model

Reactions of model
