UDDS cycle results

In UDDS cycle the accelerator pedal and brake pedal are used most of the times due to the traffic or city conditions which will effect the vehicle fuel consumption. Half of the transmitted power is wasted as shown above it can be improvised by hybrid electric vehicle which regenerates while braking and will be useful for work. Most of the times will be having varying speed of the vehicle which involves maximum number of times to change the gears.

The operating points shows that the vehicle operation speed and max curve shows the fuel consumption while opertaion of the vehicle. During high torque the vehicle uses more energy and in high speeds.

HWFET cycle results

In this HWFET cycle brake is not used many times because of highway conditions and the vehicle is in almost constant speed condition which is good for the fuel economy of the vehicle. As the brakes are not used often it has better tranmission efficiency which will avoid the loss of energy and regeneration of power will be less due to less braking. The vehicle will be in max gear condition many times which increases the efficiency of fuel and there is no need of changing of gears often as it is in highway condition.

The operating points shows that the vehicle operation speed and max curve shows the fuel consumption while opertaion of the vehicle. As the operation points are not so volatile it is in good condition for fuel efficiency and the fuel economy is better in highway condition due to less torque and constant speeds.
