Challenge

Preparing Schedule & Cost Estimation for a building using REVIT

1.

1.AIM:

Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level

a) using the model create a section box

b) to create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout

c) to reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan view

d) to apply override settings to a floor in the model views

e) to increase the range of visibility in the plan view

f) to select the previously selected items

g) to add annotations to the model view

h) to bring the model elelments in line

i) to rotate the model element

j) to move an object to another location

k) to copy model element

l) to mirror an element about axis

m) to create an array of model elements

PROCEDURE:

a) using the 3d model create a section box

shortcut key used: SECTION BOX-BX

b) create similar doors and windows in afloor plan

shortcut key used: CREATE SIMILAR- CS

c) to reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan view

shortcut key used- THIN LINES-TL

d) to apply override settings to a floor in the model

VISIBILITY GRAPHIC AND OVERRIDE SETTINGS-VG

e) to increase the range of visibility in plan view

VIEW RANGE-VR

f) to select the previously selected items

RESELECT-CTRL+<

g) to add annotation to the model view

DIMENSION-DL

h) to bring the model element in line

ALIGN-AL

i) to rotate the model elements

ROTATE-R

k) to copy elements

COPY-CO

l) to mirror element about axis

MIRROR-MM

m) to create an array

ARRAY-AR

2.AIM:

Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
          a. Walls
          b. Doors
          c. Windows
          d. Material – Concrete/Wood

initially open the architectural model is created

then go to view tab and schedule program

 a) wall shcedule

now for wall schedule choose the parameters for scheduling and then click ok

the wall schedule is prepared as given below

hence the wall schedule is prepare

b) door schedule

view schedule and select the door

now select the parameters to be considered for doors

door schedule given below

c) window schedule

view shedule now select the as window

now select the parameters to be consider for windows

windows schedule prepared given below

d) material-concrete/wood

view schedule and select the floor

now select the parameters to be consider for floor materials

similarly material takeoff for doors is also developed

hence completed

RESULT:

the wall doors windows and maerial schedule have been prepared

3.AIM:

Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans

a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

PROCEDURE:

go to view schedule report for area and volume of each room

now select the category as room

now select the parameters to be considered for room

hence the room area shedule is prepare

4.

AIM:

To prepare the schedule of total cost of materials

1) for wall

go to view tab schedules materials take off

select the category as wall

now select the parameters for wall

now we have to include the total cost parameters which is calculated quantity

for this go to add calculated quantity

the wall materials taken off as given as

simlarly prepare for doors windows floors and furnitures materials takeoff schedules

does materials takeoff schedules

windows materials takeoff

floor materials takeoff schedule

hence the total cost and individual materials takeoff schedule has been prepared

5.AIM:

Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views

A)

B)

C)

6.AIM:

Parameters associated with each model elements are follow:

a) walls:

wall description

wall lenght

wall thickness

wall height

wall materials

wall location

material cost

b) floor

floor type

floor descripition
