MODELLING AND RENDERING OF AMERICAN CHOPPER

OBJECTIVE : Sketching of American Choppers bike using Solidworks.

EXECUTION :

STEPS FOR SKETCH :

Click New File

Select the Planes

Draw the sketch as per req. dimensions with help of sketching tools

Create Surface and Solid Models with all features and surfaces

Save the Model.

MODELING : Choppers has the following parts which are modeled separately and then finally assembled it.

1. Transmission Belt 2. Kickstand 3. Chain 4. Pedal 5. Front Tire 6. Rear Tire 7. Front Fender

8. Rear Fender 9. Engine 10. Front Fork 11. Oil Tank 12. Chasis 13. Gas Tank.

Week 1: Transmission Belt, Kickstand, Front Fender and Rear Fender.

These sketches shows various commands used to for creating above week 1 models.

{ 2D Sketch, Lines,Circles,Ellipse & Splines, Extrude,Revolve & Loft Boss/Base, Cut Extrude,Split & Shell, Dome & Fillet }

Week 2: Oil Tank, Pedal and Chain.

In this models, we see few new tools used in it.

{ Straight Slot Sketch tool, Linear & Circular Pattern option, Combine & Mirror tool, Chamfer }

Week 3: Front and Rear Wheel.

The both wheels follows same features & revolve cut is the new option used in it. Chain sprocket is an extra part in rear wheel and minor changes seen in rear tire such as its size, outer tire design etc.

Week 4: Front Fork.

Projected Curves and Swept boss/base helps us to get an exact sketch of Fork.

Week 5:

Engine :- Blueprint Sketch is useful Composite curves for engine exhaust and this video shows various planes created in it.

Chasis :- The blueprint is selected and created many sweeps to get exact model.

Gas Tank :- Both Solid & Surface modeling tools are useful for this design. The appearances are created after the end of every part as per the requirement that looks pretty good.

CHOPPERS ASSEMBLY :- Open all the parts & assemble them with the help of Mates. Here we learn various mates such as Concentric, Parallel, Angle, Advance & Distance.

PHOTOVIEW360 RENDERING :- The usage of few commands like Camera, Decals & Edit scene will make choppers looks more realistic.

SOLIDWORKS VISUALIZE :- Install solidworks visualize app where visualize tools & background settings can be use to render the american choppers to make it more realistic.

CONCLUSION :- Finally we have learnt the modeling, assembling and rendering of the american choppers bike.
