Discription of features used: -
Sketch: - sketch is the basic drawing or we can say a 2d structure which is used for further creation of the model.
Boss Extrude: - Boss extrude is a tool used to create a 2D closed shape into 3D shape.
Revolve: -
Revolve Cut: -
Extrude cut: - It is used to cut a 3D shape like cutting holes, slots etc.
Fillets: - fillets are given to the sharp edges of a 3D model to give it a round profile.
Chamfer: - It is used to give a tapered look to the modle or we can say chamfered look.
Combine: - Used to combine to independent bodies and make them a whole single solid body
Projected Curves: - It is used to create a curve in the 3D space from two Curves which intersects each other and make a curve at the intersection which is known as a Projected Curve.
Reference Plane: - This tool is used to create a plane in the 3D space.
Split: - The Split feature is used to split the sections from a solid body with the help of a 2D drawing.
Trim: - to remove the unwanted section of a drawing.
Pattern: - there are many types of Patterns availale like Linear, Circular and Rectangular.
Mirror: - To mirror the drawing or a solid body about any structure.
Convert entities: - This feature is used to get the drawing from any solid body.
Move/Copy Body: - To move or copy the body.
Dome: - It creates a Dome like structure to part face.
Offset: - This feautre creates the same drawing at the specified distance from the original sketch.
Sweep Surface: - Sweep Surfaces are surfaces that are generated from a section curve positioned along a path
Loft Surface: - Loft Surfaces are surfaces generated by multiple 3D Curves or existing edges creating a smooth tangency between the selected curves.
Fill surface: - These are surfaces created by any boundary sketch or shape.
Surface trim: - It is used to Trim any surface and also to cut any surface into 2 or more parts.
Surface knit: - It is used to merge or combine two or more surfaces into one.
Sweep cut: Creates a sweep by moving a 2D profile along a 2D or 3D sketch path.
etc.
Front fender: -
Front fender is used to cover the front wheel of the bike and it provides protection against the sludge and dirt coming from the road.
Process of making of the front Fender
First of all naming has been given to the planes vertical plane front fender santro plain front fender middle plane front fender
• Sketch has drawn on vertical plane front fender and construction line is drawn horizontally on the vertical plane front fender.
• Now revolved boss feature is used to create the desired body the revolve is done by selecting the sketch and the access or we can say the centre line that we have created earlier.
• No sketch has been created on Central plane front fender
• Now split feature is used to remove cutouts from the body and give it a nice aesthetic look.
• Now sketch for is being created on the vertical front fender plane which is downward to the origin
• No gain split tool is used
• A basic structure of the front fender is designed
• Its last 6 mm fillet is given to the outer surface of the fender.
• Now appearance has been given to the body my case it's Siena
Features used: -
Revolve, splits and Fillets
Rear Fender: -
Rear fender is bigger in size than the front fender

Assembly of American Chopper in SolidWorks
First of all, the all parts are opened simultaneously and then Chassis is inserted in the assembly workspace using insert parts in the option. Press ok to Fix the Chassis. Then all parts are inserted as per the requirement and adjusted accordingly so that the do not intersect of hinder with each other and possible mates are given to the parts to specify the location and fix the parts with respect to the chassis.
Decals are also applied to the assembled chopper
Following features are used to assemble the chopper.
- Mates
- Insert parts
What are Mates?
Mates are the specific relation of the parts with each other like incident, concentric, perpendicular, etc. We can move a component within its degree of freedom
Photo Realistic Rendering: -
In SolidWorks we can create the Photo Realistic renders with help of PHOTOVIEW 360.
We can do that by clicking on the photoview 360 tab.
SOLIDWORKS VISUALIZE is the standalone software which is a very powerful tool to create a realistic and high-quality image and perform animations also and present our product in a realistic environment by applying lights and reflection.
