Photo Realistic Rendering
TITLE OF THE PROJECT : MODELLING AND RENDERING OF AMERICAN CHOPPER
OBJECTIVE:
The main objective of the project is to model all the parts of the American Chopper using given measurements and to assemble all the parts together using appropriate commands. And to render the final mode under both SOLIDWORKS Photoview 360 and SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional.
INTRODUCTION:
1. SOLIDWORKS:

SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) computer program published by Dassault Systèmes, that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. SolidWorks is computer-aided design (CAD) software owned by Dassault Systèmes. It uses the principle of parametric design and generates three kinds of interconnected files: the part, the assembly, and the drawing. Therefore, any modification to one of these three fileswill be reflected in the other two.
2. AMERICAN CHOPPER:
DESIGN METHODOLOGY / APPROACH :
DESCRIPTION :
Each and every component were sketched and then assembled together as a final model. Here, features used in the Part Modelling are explained below,
1. Boss-Extrude : The Boss-Extrude/Base feature will project a 3D model with the selected sketch or face.
2. Cut - Extrude : Cut-Extrude feature is to remove material.
3. Fillet : Fillet/Round creates a rounded internal or external face on the part. You can fillet all edges of a face, selected sets of faces, selected edges, or edge loops.
4. Loft : The loft feature allows you generate complex geometry in a single feature.
5. Dome : A dome is a curved formation or structure. It is shaped like half of a sphere.
6. Revolve : Revolves a sketch or selected sketch that contours arond the axis.
7. Revolve - Cut : Cuts a solid model by revolving a sketch profile around an axis.
8. Draft : Tapers model faces by a specified angle, using a neutral pplane or a parting line.
9. Shell : Hollows out a part, leaving open the slected faces and creating thin-walled features on the remaining faces.
10. Mirror : Mirror features, faces and bodies about a plane or a planar faces. In assemblies, you can also mirror assembly features.
11. Curves : Helps to draw a curve with defined dimension.
12. Split : Creates multiple bodies from a single body. You can create the bodies in the existing part or in seperate parts.
13. Swept surface : Sweeps a closed profile along an open or closed path to create a surface feature.
14. Move/Copy Bodies : Moves, copies and rotates solid and surface bodies.
15. Knit surface : Combines two or more adjacent, noninteresting surfaces into a single surface body.
16. Chamfer : Instead of smooth edge in filllet, it cuts the edge with certain angle.
17. Linear Pattern : Pattern features, faces and bodie in one or two linear directions.
18. Circular Pattern : Pattern features, faces and bodie in one or two circular directions.
19. Boundary surface : Creates a surface between profiles that can be tangent or curvature continous in all directions.
20. Extruded surface : Extrudes a surface or sketch contours in one or two directions to create a surface feature.
21. Combine : Combines two or more solid bodies to create a single body or another multibody part.
22. Move entities : Moves sketch entities and annotations.
23. References : Helps to create a reference plane, axis or point.
24. Sketch : Creates a new sketch, or edits an editing sketch.
25. Smart dimension : Creates a dimension for one or more selected 2D or 3D sketch entities.
26. Trim entities : Trims or extends a sketch entity to be concident to another, or delets a sketch entity. Use the Power Trim option to trim adjacent entities by dragging across them.
27. Convert entities : Converts selected edges and sketch entites into identical entities by projecting them onto the sketch plane or face.
28. Offset entities : Offsets one or more sketcg entities by a specified distance.
29. Sketch Picture : Adds an image file into a sketch background.
30. Cut Sweep :Cuts a solid model by sweeping a closed profile along an open or closed path.
PART MODELLING :
The 3D part is the basic building block of any large scale design. Features are the individual shapes that, when combined, make up the part. You can also add some types of features to assemblies. Part documents can contain multiple solid bodies that you can manipulate the same way as single solid bodies.

RENDER TOOLS IN SOLIDWORKS VISUALIZE 360 :
1. Edit Apperance : Edits the appearance of entities in the model. When you edit an appearance assigned to a group of entities, the appearance updates for all entities.
2. Edit Scene : Edits the scene applied to the document.
3. Edit Decal : Applies a decal to faces in a model.
4. Integrated Preview : Displays the PhotoView 360 preview inside the SOLIDWORKS graphics area.
5. Preview Window : Opens the Photoview 360 preview window that displays the rendered model.
6. Final Render : invokes a PhotoView 360 final rendering. Makes deatiled adjustments to the final render or compare two renders and view statistics.
7. Render Region : Defines a graphics window region for preview or final rendering.
8. Schedule Render : Schedules batch processes to render PhotoView 360 documents and Motion animations.
9. RealView Graphics : Displays a more realistics model in real time, including advanced shading, self-shadowing and scene reflections.
