Hood design-Week 2

Hood design is the major role in safety aspect of consideration both pedestriants and passengers. To minimise the percentage of injuries and damage to passengers when accident happen. To avoid the inpact for pedestriants when hit, The mastics are created in hood inner panel.A car hood panel is one of the most important components of the BIW (body in white), it is considered as the closure sheet-metal component. A hood panel consists of two panels that are hemmed together to form the automotive hood assembly.

Hood Panel:

Hood panels are parts : Hood Inner Panel and Hood Outer panel. Inner panel is the encloser of engine compartment, It is the most important part which protuct the engine and strengthen the hood outer panel. Major role of inner panel design is to reduce the damage of pedestriants when hit. The hood outer panel is the asthetic and protection surface of car.Considering the safety standarts like child head and adult head position, the panel design will be carried and also the asthetic will be improved.

Embosses:

Emboss are created to reduce the matreial and cost of manufacturing for company with considering the safety and impact transfer rating. If when car hits, the impacts are tranfered to outer side of the hood panel. For that reason the embosses patterns are created towards the outer side. To reduce the gap between the hood inner and outer panel the mastics are created and both connected together. The connection made by make hemming in outer panel to innet panel with the proper measures.
