Hood design-Week 2
Car hood panels consist of several essential parts as fololows :
1. Outer Skin:The visible top surface of the hood, often designed with curves, lines, and a logo to enhance the car's aesthetics.
2. Inner Frame: A structural component beneath the outer skin that provides rigidity and support to the hood.
3. Insulation: Material added between the outer skin and inner frame to dampen noise and provide thermal insulation.
4. Hinges: These are attached to the hood and the car's body, allowing the hood to pivot upward for access to the engine compartment.
5. Latches and Locks: Mechanisms that secure the hood in the closed position and release it when needed.
6. Gas Struts or Springs: These help support the weight of the hood when it's open, making it easier to access the engine.
