Hood design-Week 2
THE DETAILED REPORT FOR HOOD DESIGN
HOOD DEFINITION AND CONCEPTS ARE (THE WORD OF HOOD IS COMMON ENGLISH WORD) THE CONCEPTS OF HOOD ITS COVER THE ENGINE COMPONENT AREA AND ITS USED OPENING AND CLOSING OF ENGINE COMPONENT TO REPAIRS AND MAINTANCE ASPECTS
- Objective: The aim of this project is to construct a well defined hood assembly by modeling the different parts needed in creation of our hood assembly that parts are hood inner & outer panel, hinge assembly, striker, etc.
OBJECTIVES : THE MAIN AIM OF PROJECT ARE DESIGN THE HOOD AS PER STANTARD AND FULL ALL SIDE AND ASSEMBLY OF OUTER PANEL,INNER PANAEL,HINGE ASSEMBLY,STIRKER
HOOD IS MAIN PART CAR
ITS USED AS SAFETY ASSCEPTS COVER OF ENGINE COMPONET AND ITS COVER ALSO OF LOOKS OF CARS
ITS INNER PANEL OF CAR

ITS OUTER PANEL OF CAR

ITS DETAIL OF HOOD IMPACT AREA
HOODS AND THEIR PARTS FOR ASSEMBLY PURPOSE:-
HOOD OUTER PANEL
HOOD INNER PANEL
HINGE
LATCH
STRICKER

DESIGN OF HOODS:-
WE WANT CONSISDER OF DESIGN THE HOODS (ANGLE OF OPENING)THE ITS BASED OPEN AND CLOSE
AND THIS OPENING COSIST OF TWO ASSCEPTS THEY ARE (SUPPORT ROD AND GAS STAY)

AND TO OPENING THE HOOD HATCH TO SECONDARY LEVER INSIDE THE HOOD ITS PARTS OF STRIKER MECHANISM
GAS STAY IS COMPONENT IS COMMONLY USED IN BACK DOORS
NOW A DAYS ITS USED IN HOOD OPENING AND CLOSING ASSCEPTS
AND DESIGNING THE SUPPORT ALSO HAD MANY ASSCEPT THAT MUST FULFILS EXAMPLE SUPPORT BEETER STRENGHT IT CAN MINIMUM IT CAN GIVE MORE STRENGHT TO SUPPORT ROD TO SUPPORTING THE HOOD
DESIGN OF PARAMETERS THEY GIVEN ABOVE
Hood Thickness Information
Outer Panel Thickness = 0.75mm
Inner Panel Thickness = 0.75mm
Reinforcement Thickness = 1.5mm
MASTER SECTION OF HOOD GIVEN ABOVE

Latch Trajectory

ITS AXIS OF OPENING AND CLOSING THE HOOD
Latch trajectory is given by the circle drawn from the hinge axis point. Hinge axis point is the centre point of the hinge axis. First, we can fix either the latch or the hinge. If we have fixed the hinge position then we should plot the Trajectory circle for the latch. For proper mating condition the striker axis through the tip of the striker should be tangential to the latch trajectory
Emboss definitions
Throughout the inner panel we provide different embosses. We can increase the stiffness of the inner panel through these embosses. The shape and size of the embosses also determines the direction of the force distribution resulted from frontal collision. The force should be always distributed away from the passengers.

MASTIC DATA

HOOD DESIGN ITS LARGE SURFACE IN AREA SO IT CAN JOINING THE INNER AND OUTER PANEL OF HOOD
IN OUTER JOINING PROCESS ITS TAKE HEMMING PROCESS ITS JOINING THE OUTER AND INNER PANEL BUT BETWEEN WE CAN DO ANY KINDLY ARC AND GAS WELGING TO JOINING BOTH MEDIUM BECAUSE IT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AESTHETIC APPEARANCE AND SO ONLY WE USED THIS PROCESS MASTIC DATA ITS LIKE RUBBER IT USED TO SEALENTING BOTH INNER AND OUTER PANEL PER ONE MASTIC DATA ITS COVERS AROUND 80MM DIAMETER GIVE ITS JOINING CAPACITY
AND NEXT MANUFACTURING OF EMBOSS
DEEP DRWING METHOD
Deep Drawing
Deep drawing is one of the most widely used processes in sheet metal forming. Apart from its use in many other sectors, it is applied in the automotive industry for the manufacturing of car body parts. The deep drawing process is a forming process which occurs under a combination of tensile and compressive conditions.
HEMMING PROCESS
Hemming is a sheet metal forming process in which sheets are joined by bending it usually to 180°. Automotive body panels and automotive parts such as deck-lids, trunk-lids, doors, hoods and tailgates are formed by hemming process.
Hemming is used in the automotive industry to join two sheet metal panels by bending the flange of the outer panel over the inner one. In roller hemming process, a robot guides a small roller across the flange to fold a sheet onto itself or onto another sheet.

AND DUE CONCLUSION OF THIS DEFINITIONS
BELOW MENTION ATTACHED MY TOTAL ASSEMBLY OF MY HOOD DESIGN

AND IN THIS WE PARAMETERS SURFACE ,CURVES,SKETCH, WE MAINLY USED IN THIS HOOD DESIGN
