Frequency Analysis of a rotating shaft
AIM:-
To perform a frequency analysis of a rotating shaft.
INTRODUCTION:-
In this project I am going to create a 3D model of a rotating shaft with a circular disc at te centre of the shaft and then perform frequency analysis for the same.
THEORY:-
Resonance:- The increase in amplitude of oscillation of an electric or mechanical system exposed to a periodic force whose frequency is equal or very close to the natural undamped frequency of the system."
Mode:-The mode is a statistical term that refers to the most frequently occurring number found in a set of numbers. The mode is found by collecting and organizing data in order to count the frequency of each result. The result with the highest count of occurrences is the mode of the set, also referred to as the modal value.
.
PROCEDURE:-
First created 3D model of a rotating shaft using CAD features of the software with the following dimensions.
Input Dimensions
Total Length = 420 mm
Dia. of Circular Disc at centre = 100 mm
Thickness of Circular Disc = 20 mm
Dia of shaft = 30 mm

RESULT:-
The different critical or resonant frequencies obtained are as follows:
