FINAL INDEPENDENT PROJECT
Phase 1)
Aim :- Flow through Orifice
Orifice meter is usedOrifice meter is used to determine the rate of flow
Orifice plate flow meters are simple and cost effective flow meters can handle large range of flows and more than 80% of all the flow meters used in chemical industries are orifice plate flow meters. Orifice plate flow meters are the most commonly used variable head flow meter. A pressure drop is generated across a fixed restriction in the flow. Orifice meters have high pressure losses and correspondingly high pumping costs, but because they are mechanically simple, they are cheap and easy to install [3, 4]. For small size lines, orifice meters are much more common than other flow measuring devices.
We Are going to calculate the 1) Average Total pressure
2) Maximum Total pressure
3) Minimum Total pressure
4) Mass Flow Rate
Phase 2 :-
The objective is to find the Average, Maximum, Minimum Total Pressure , Mass Flow Rate.
1) creating circle on front plane of 20mm diameter and 24 m diameter
2) extrude it to mid plane as 150mm
3) create another circle on the front plane as 20mm and 10mm.
4) extrude it to midplane as
Create lids on both faces
Then open Wizard Internal flow and exclude cavitation then select gravity in y component as -9.81
select Liquids as water
There are various boundary condiions we have applied
1) inlet velocity as 10m/s , 14 m/s , 18 m/s , 22 m/s
2) outlet as Environmental as 101325 Pa
3) Global Goals as Total Pressure :- Maximum, Average , Minimum
Velocity :- Maximum, Average , Minimum
Mass Flow Rate :- Maximum, Average , Minimum
4) Flow Trajectories :- starting at lid 1 and number of points as 100
using appereances as sphere.
