Internal Geneva Mechanism
Aim:- To Create 3D models for driver and driven wheels and motion analysis by rotating the driver wheel at 10rpm save the plots.
Obtaining the forces between driver and driven wheels ,Displacement etc
The Geneva Mechanism translates a continuous rotation into intermittent rotary motion.
There is a pin to the rotating wheel that reaches the slot of driven wheel. The Geneva mechanism consists of different types they are as External, Internal, Spherical.Spherical Are less used.
The Driven wheel has four slots and therefore for each rotation of the drive wheel it advances by 90.The driven wheel has n slots, it advances by 360 per full rotation of the drive wheel.
Creating the components
1) Driver Wheel
2) Driven Wheel
The Plots below are given
1) Angular displacement of driven wheel.
2) Angular displacement of driver wheel.
3) Angular Velocities
At 10 RPM
At 20 RPM
4) Contact Forces
Comparing with Precision and without precision
Comparing forces between driver and driven
At 10 RPM
At 20 RPM
Conclusion :-
Contact force increases with precise contact.
Angular displacement of the driven wheel remains constant as prm increases.
The Precise contact give analytically correct results.
