Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

Fender Wheel arc area:- The gap between wheel and wheel arc of fendar is important criteria of the fender design becouse It save engine part & also ppredestian from mud, stone coming from wheel.

Difrent contries varies gap according to our regulation requirement. For example japan requirement 5mm min. gap between fender wheel arc & wheel.

Europian regulation requirement:- According to design of fender, wheel arc is completely inside the fender and minimum distance between fender & wheel arc is 10mm in all section.

Procedure:-

  • In Wheel arc creat two referance line horizontal & vartical which is passes centre of wheel arc.
  • Creat section at angle 30 degree forword from vartical referance line. and project it to top view make section A-A'.
  • Creat section at angle 50 degree rearword from vartical referance line. and project it to top view make section B-B'.
  • Creat section at vartical diastance 150mm from horizontal referance line. and project it to top view make section C-C'.
  • Creat section D-D' which is between equall anguler distance section B & section C and project it to top view.

We have find at all five section A-A', Vartical section, section B-B', section C-C' & section D-D'

RESULT :- According to Europian regulation requirement calculate distance between wheel arc & fender

Result in tabuler form

Sr.No. SECTION Distace b/w wheel arc & fender
01 A-A' 10 mm
02 Vartical 9.949 mm
03 B-B' -0.1126 mm
04 C-C' -1.798 mm
05 D-D' -3.60 mm

CONCLUSION:-

  • Section A-A' are qualified minimum require distance 10mm.
  • Varticle section distance is postive but value 9.945 mm which is less than minimum requirement
  • Section B-B', C-C' & D-D' distance is negative means fender is inside of wheel arc or inside the wheel arc.
  • This fender does not protect engine part and predestian from mud, stone comming from centrifugal action during running wheel
  • this fender designe completely wrong design
