Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

WHEEL ARC CHALLENGE

AIM:We need to create the detailed report on the wheel arc area.

• The below diagram is the referance for the EUROPE standards.

• The car wheel is devided into two equal parts @ 0-180 as shown .
• Then the 90 angle marked and then the 30 angle followed by 50 angle as shown.
• Then from 0 angle 150mm is marked on the arc of fender and then the midpoint of 50 and the point from 0 angle is marked.
• As we all se in the above picture that the maximum distance is 96.97mm clearance between the tyre surface and arc.
• Then the minimum distance of the tyre surface and the arc is 28.52.
• By observing the above data and the given design it satisfies the minimum distance criteria.
• The minimum distance should be 10mm.
• These above parameters as per the EUROPE standards to be mentained for the pedestriam safty.
• Then the other part is if the tyre comes out of the fender part then it produces sound and chipping takes place.
• To avoid the above problems we design the fender and mentain the wheel arc area.

Conclusion:Finally we see that the above given design satisfies all the conditions ans passes the standard test.
