Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
WHEEL ARCH CHALLENGE:-
To caculate the whether the design passes the EUROPEAN STANDARDS or not

EUROPEAN STANDARDS:-

Take the outline of the wheel and the fender
draw the line with 30 and 50 degree and make point of the horizontal length of the 150 mm
Measure the distances between the points on the wheel circle and fender curve. all of these should be greater than 10mm to satisfy the europeon standards.
secondly the horizontal distacesfrom SA, SB, SC.
whether the design passes these conditions and conclude whether it can pass the european standards
SKETCH REQUIRED:-

SA-SA:-
26MM >10MM

SB-SB:-
43.6MM>10MM

SC-SC:-
38.4MM>10MM

SD-SD:-
41.00MM>10MM

SE-SE:-
43.8MM>10MM

NOW WE HAVE TO FIND THE HORIZONTAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND THE FENDER THE DISTANCE SHOULD BE ATLEAST 5MM FROM THE POINT SA, SB, SC.

DISTANCE BETWEEN POINT SA AND FENDER OUTER CURVE = 10MM

DISTANCE BETWEEN POINT SB AND FENDER OUTER CURVE = 10MM

DISTANCE BETWEEN POINT SC AND FENDER OUTER CURVE = 2.4MM

SA-SA 26MM > 10MM OK
SB-SB 43.6 MM > 10MM OK
SC-SC 38.4MM > 10MM OK
SD-SD 41MM > 10MM OK
SE-SE 43.8 MM > 10MM OK
DISTANCE BETWEEN THE WHEEL TO THE FENDER OUTER CURVE
SA 10MM > 5MM PASS
SB 10MM > 5MM PASS
SC 2.4MM < 5MM FAIL
CONCLUSION:-
The given design does not satisfies all the european standards i.e., distance from point sc to the fender curve which is 2.4mm that is why below the recommended 5mm minimum distance therefore this fender cannot pass the european standards the design should be reverted back to the class A designer to modify the design and increase the gap.
