FENDER DESIGN
(NOTE: MAGNA STEYR TRAINING)
In a car, the fender is the frontmost part of the vehicle. It is made of steel sheets, stamped into the shape of a fender. Fender plays a major role in protecting the engine components and also plays a major role in pedestrian safety in unavoidable circumstances. A fender is part of a car that protects and frames its wheels and keeps mud from splashing it. While designing Fender, the Fender drip area should be correctly measured and designed accordingly. The fender consists of a wheel arch of the vehicle. There are two types of fenders present in the automotive market, full fender and half fender. In the present scenario, most of the vehicles come with half fenders. The reason behind the half fender is to save the manufacturing material and reduce wastage.
