Fender Design

FENDER: Fender is an one of the automobile car part which was there on upper side of the front wheels.There are two sides of fender in car i.e 1) Front Fender 2) Rear Fender. We don't talk much about Rear-Fender , we only talk about Front-Fender because, the rear fernder may part of the back door.

FRONT-FENDER:

1) Front-Fender is seperate closure component of the car and also it acts a covered part of the engine.

2) The primary function of Front-Fender is to protect the passengers from the small stones like that and also it protects the engine from small small stones while running on the road, and also it prevents damages to predestrians.

3) Front-Fender is two types; 1. Full type bender 2. Half type bender.Most of the companies use half type bender because , the material,manufactuing,wastage after production,weight of that part will all be less compared to full type.

4) The below picture shows the Front-Fender design;

5) Front-Fender is mounted with 5 regions . They are;

A) A- pillar B) Sill area C) Drip D) Bumper E) Baffle.

6) We will discuss about one by one. First we will discuss about Drip area.

A) DRIP AREA: This area is the one which will get contact with engine department. Drip area is mounted with hood inner panel. Generally this is fixed either by welding or with the help of bolts and nuts. The below figure shows the drip area region on the front fender. Here we have only the input like fender, we should create each and every mounted region on our own. In this, the data is given onky for drip region. First we will create the drip area.

* According to given data as shown above, we developed the drip area region with the help of NX CAD software. The CAD data is shown below;

The highlited area is our drip area on front fender.The steps followed for designing the drip region;

1) First, we need to create drip area i.e the area should be 150 mm away from the front side and 200 mm away from the back side.

2) And cut the remaing area. After develop the region according to the given data which was shown and highlighted below;

3) We can see two holes at center of horizantal area, that is used for to fix drip to the engine compartment.

* Now we move on to the next mounted region that is A-pillar region.

A-PILLAR REGION: This is one of the mounted region of fender. It is located back side of the fender. It is also called as A-Posts. It is situated on either side of the windshield and also used to connect the front door of body to vehicle.

In the above figure, the highlited region is A-Pillar region. And now next we will get to the bumper region.

BUMPER REGION: It is one of the fender mounted region. This is situated front side of the fender. This is fixed to joint the bumper region to the car body. The below figure shows the bumper region of fender;

Here we used to supportive type with the help of command 'DART' we build the supportive type because it is used to reduce the stress on that region.

SILL: It is one of the mounted region of fender. This is situated at bootom side of fender. This is also used to connect the fender and roof also. This area is shown below;

BAFFLE: This area is is the major area which connects with the car body and the major difference is compared to another it does'nt required a flat area in order to insert the holes.
