Fender Design

Fender Design

First open the fender given as a stp file and save to convert it into a catpart file. Then open the catpart file and join everything in the part. Then using the parallel curve tool, make parallel lines 5 mm from the edges throughout the fender. Then mark the neede points where we need our mount as drip areamount, bumper mount area, sill area, cowl area and baffle mount area. We create the mount by marking two points on the parallel curve and two points on the lower edges of the fender and connect these points using connecting curve tool after splitting and again using parallel curve and again split to make our mount area and other portion need to splitted by using split tool. As like make areas for all other mounts like this. So after creating five such areas (Drip area, bumper mount area, sill area, cowl area, and baffle area), and splitting all other areas beneath the parallel curve we drawn 5 mm to downwards from the edges initially, we will get our mount areas.

Then I made another geometrical set inorder to provide mounts to the made areas on the fender. Then using sweep tool I made mounts within the limits of dimension of Engineering standards that I learned from the class by giving its proper direction and angle and leangth needed. I made differently on the five regions according to its need of mounting and wihin the standard limits.

Then I made another geometrical set inorder to make emboss on the fender. After creating datum lines on each mounting using three points creation of datum plane tool, I sketched my desired embosses on Drip mount, bumper mount, sill mount and cowl mount. Then I created the holes in each emboss inorder for the fastening purpose.

Then made thickening to 0.75 mm after correcting the error in the stp file given. Thus I obtained my desired Fender.
