Objective : 1. Achieve the engine performance at rated & intermidiate torque
2. To make 4 cylinder diesel engine model the with & without EGR

Without EGR Model
Calculation for Run the 4 cylinder Engine Model
for do the thermodynamic analysis of any engine its very important to set the target & according to that will get actual result. so, from both result we can calculate the deviation result.
In the engine specification given the rated speed torque & power , by use of formula calculate the power & torque for both rated & intermidiate speed.
Target Result
From the target value of BSFC & A/F ration. calculate the mass of fuel need to send it in to the each cylinder is calculate.

From below deviation table we can see that Power & Torque result is with 10 %. so, this result are good & which is acceptable
Case setup without EGR Model

from above graph its observed that Engine cylinder temprature is high for lower 1300 rpm.
Nox Emission
from above graph its observed that Nox emissio is high for 1300 rpm & its due to higher torque requirment.
With EGR cooler model
in the above model we can see there is add EGR cooler for reduce the Nox emission, so according to that there is connection is given of intake & exhaust manifold to EGR cooler.

if we compare the Nox emission at 2200 rpm for with & without EGR Model
1. Without EGR cooler> 2200 rpm >Nox emission> 1103.17ppm
2. With EGR cooler> 2200rom>Nox emission> 1099 ppm
so, from above figure we can see that by use of EGR cooler there is reduction of Nox emission.
Overall conclusion
1. Done the thermodynamic analysis of 4 cylinder engine .
2. Obtain the Performance parameter within devaition of 10%
3. EGR cooler is help for reduction of Nox emission.
