Creation of geometries by Coordinate system methods using AutoCad
Aim: To draw the given drawings in AutoCad as per the coordinate systems and use the line tool or circle tool whichever is needed.
Introduction: The coordinate system represents the grids in AutoCad and it is used to plot the drawings as per the coordinates of x and y. It is easier to draw the drawings with these systems as the accuracy of the drawing can be precise. There are three diiferent types of system namely,
- Absolute Coordinate system
- Relative-Relative rectangular,Relative Polar
- Direct distance entry
Using these systems the drawings can be drawn based on the inputs like the coordinates, distance and angle of the drawings.
Procedure: The drawings P1 to P10 are drawn with the line tool and using the coordinates. The drawings are done as per the reference coordinates and based on the dimensions of the drawing. In these drawings mostly absolute coordinate system and direct distance entry is used. The relative rectangular and polar system is used for drawings such as P2,P4,P6,P9 where the angles are required in such drawings.
The profile drawing which consists of circle is drawn using all the coordinate systems as it contains a straight line and lines with angles and also a cirlce at the coordinate (5,4) with a radius of 2. The line tool and the circle tool are used for this drawing.
The trusses drawing are also done using all the coordinate system as the drawings consists of lines and angled lines which is the model of truss. These drawings are done with the line tool only as it does not contain any circles.Using the coordinates and the angles given in the drawing it is drawn precisely as per the dimesnions given in the drawing.
Results: The drawings P1 to P10, Profile and Truss 1,2,3,4 are drawn precisely in AutoCad as per the given template and attached for your reference.
