Creating a Residence Layout, Seating plan, Toilet and Utility room plan using AutoCad

1. Residence Plan:

Aim: To sketch the layout of a residence as per the given diagram.

Introduction: The given residence plan consists of external,internal walls, doors,window and stairs and each layer is given for each objects. The layer is used for the purpose of differentiating each object and provide editing options exclusively for the selected layers or object without causing any effect on other object or layers. The use of providing layers has many advantages and easy for understanding different objects.

Steps:

• Initially two lines are drawn using the xline option one in horizontal and another one in vertical and the intersection point is fixed as the left side border of the building
• Then usin the offset option the vertical line is offseted about 9" in +y direction
• Similarly using the offset option it is continued in +y and in +x direction as per the dimensions of the rooms given in the plan and inbetween the rooms offset of 9" or 4.5" is done as per the plan. The 9" represents external wall and 4.5" represents the internal wall
• Then using the fillet option the edges are conected
• In kitchen Slab is provided as per the plan
• The doors are provided as D1,D2 and D3 as per the required size
• In the lower left corner of the plan stairs are provided with 1' as tread and 6' as rise of the stairs.
• The usage of xlines and proceeding the drawing using the offset option guides the drawing to be in precise measurement and prevents usage of more tools
• Finally after the plan completion layers are created and categorised and are marked in the plan
• Then the dimensions are marked and the diagram is finished.

Result: The given plan is sketched and the layers are applied sucessfully to categorise the objets of the plan.

2. Seating plan for an outdoor canopy:

Aim: To Sketch the seating plan for an outdoor canopy as per the given dimensions.

Introduction: The provided plan is created using the circle tool and line and arc tool. The plan represents the seating of 4 chairs in a table.

Steps:

• First the circle 'a' is created with a radius of 452
• Then from the centre point of the 'a' circle, another circle 'b' is created with the radius of 1398
• The object 'c' which is chair is created by using two lines parallely and using the arc option an arc is drawn connecting the lines.
• The arc is offseted and the outer portion of the chair is created.
• The edges are fillet with a radius to provide curvy edges.
• The chairs are copied and rotated and places in the 4 tangents of the 'a' circle
• The radius of the cirlces are marked and the given plan is finished.

Results: The given seating plan is created sucessfully and the diagram is marked of its dimensions and finished.

3. Sketch the part plan for the toilers and utilities room

Aim: To Sketch the part plan for the toilers and utilities room as per the given dimensions of the plan.

Introduction: The given plan is given in mm dimensions, hence the units are selected in Decimal option.The part plan gives the sketch of two rooms with doors and windows.

Steps:

• Initially two lines are drawn in horizontal and vertical direction using the xline tool and the intersection point is the left side border of the building
• Using the offset option the vertical direction is offseted in +y direction about 150mm and the horizontal line is offseted in +x direction about 300mm
• Similarly the offset option is repeated in +x and +y direction as per the plan and inbetween internal and external walls are provided as per the plan
• The edges are connected using the fillet option with 0 radius to provide sharp edges.
• Doors and windows are provided as per the dimensions of the plan
• Finally the walls are hatched as per the color of the plan
• The utilities such as Sink and the other blocks are provided as per the requirement of the plan
• The dimesnions are marked and the diagram is finished.

Results: The part plan of the rooms and the doors,windows and hatch of the walls are provided as per the plan and the dimensions are marked and the plan is finished sucessfully
