Creating Conceptual mass in REVIT and Creation of Sinusoidal curve and a Parametric stadium using Dynamo
1) Using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.
AIM : To create a seet of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.
TOOLS USED :
Dynamo.
Code block.
Range.
Mat.sin.
Integer slider.
Product (*).
Add (+).
Points by coordinate.
List.
Surface by loft.
PROCEDURE :
First open a new revit file and open a architectural template.
Next click on manage tab and select dynamo tool.
Dynamo work space opens and click on new and start the work in dynamo.
For drawing a sinusoidal curve we have have some parameters such as start, end and step of the curve.
With the help of code block option we have to assign start, end and step of the curve.
Next we need amplifier and phase for the curve, so we can use code block and integer slider.
We have to connect the start, end and step to the range.
We have to assign a new parameter called Math.sin for the sin curve.
Connect Math.sin to x of * and amplifier to y of *.
Connect variable of * to x of + and interger slider to y of +.
Connect the variable of + to y of point by coordinate.
Connect points to points in nurbs curve and integer slider to degree in nurbs curve.
RESULT :
With the above steps we can create a set of sinusoidal points and join them, later we can assign surface to the curve.

2) Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo . Using the tools available in dynamo link the lines to appropriate model elements in Revit by choosing the wall types and wall parameters. Make use of the sliders to slide through the height of the wall and length of the wall.
AIM : To create a conceptual layout of floor in dynamo. Use appropriate parameters like wall types, wall paramenters and use sliders for wall height and length.
TOOLS USED :
Integer slider.
Code block.
Point by coordinates.
Line by start and end point.
List.
Wall type.
Levels.
Wall by curve and height.
PROCEDURE :
First open a architectural template.
Click on manage tab and select dynamo option.
In dynamo select new.
Create two integer sliders for x and y.
Create four points by coordinates.
Connect the points to line by start and end point.
Create levels, height of wall and wall type parameters.
Connect height of wall, wall types, levels and list to wall by curve and height.
Now we can go to the revit file and see the wall in 3D view.
RESULT :
Now we have successfully created a conceptual layout of floor with all the required parameters.

3) Create an array of model elements in Revit. Use dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block
AIM : To create an array of elements in revit using dynamo.
TOOLS USED :
Architectural.
Columns.
Dynamo.
Set rotation.
Integer slider.
Code block.
Select model element.
View.
Default 3D view.
PROCEDURE :
First open architecture template in revit and draw a architectural column.
Next Select the column and copy and paste it at a horizontal distance.
Nect select both the columns and copy and paste them vertically, Totally we get 4 aarchitectural columns in the drawing.
Next go to manage tab and select dynamo option.
In the dynamo window Add select model elements, set rotation, code block and integer slider parameters.
Give a standard value to the code block and connect select model elements and code block to set rotation.
Now connect the integer slider to the set rotation parameter to change the rotation of the columns.
Now we can change the values on the integer slider and see the rotation of the columns simultaneously in the revit file with different values.
We can observe the same rotation in the 3D view.
RESULT :
We can create and change the parameters of an array of elements in revit with the help of dynamo.

4) Create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling. Use triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column
AIM:- To create a conceptual mass in revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and, To apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling.
PROCEDURE:-
First we have to open the revit software, and select the new option in the family.
Next the new family tab will be visible, then select the mass in the conceptual mass folder, as shown in the below figure.
After selecting the mass from the conceptual mass folder the new screen will be visible, as shown below.
Next we have to open the north elevation and need to create the level-2, as shown in the below figure.
Next we use the spline tool to draw the walkway curve, as shown in the below figure.
At the control points we have to create the workplane, and draw the polygon with four sides to the workpalne.
Similarly create workpalne at the contrl points and draw the polygon with four sides in different angles, as shown below.
Next we select the curve line, control points, workplane and polygon. And then create foam, as shown in the below figure.
Next we open the new family, and select the metric curtain panel patern based, as shown in the below figure.
Next we select the triangle bent pattern, as shown in the figure.
Next we create the plane at the midpoint and also place the circle at the midpoint.
Then the triangle bent pattern was created, and then click on the "load into project" option.
Then the triangle bent pattern was loaded into the project.
Next we apply the triangle bent pattern to the parametric column, as shown in the below figure.
RESULT:-
Created a conceptual mass in revit and developed a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and also applied the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling.

5) Use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium. List your parameters and use the visual programming approach to complete the modelling, You can use the concepts discussed in parametric high rise tower in class for reference.
AIM:- To draw a parametric stadium using dynamo.
PROCEDURE:
First we have to open the new file in revit, and open the dynamo.
In the dynamo screen type slider and insert four sliders and rename it.
Next type points and select points by coordinate to create floor.
Next type code block and in that code block type (0..#levels..FloorHeight)
Next join levels and height, as shown below.
Next type coordinate system by origin and join the code block to it in z.
Next type code block and in that code block type (bottom..top..#levels)
Next join the bottom rotation and top rotation and number of levels.
Next type rectanglebywidth, and type slider and rename it as width/length of rectangle.
Next join the coordinatesystem to cs.
Next join the slider to width and length.
Next type rotate and insert geometry rotate.
Next type origin and insert point origin.
Next we have to type z axis & insert it.
Next join the rectangle to geometry point to origin and degrees to code book(bottom..top..#Levels).
Next type polysurface by loft and insert it.
Next join geometry to the cross-section.
Therefore, the parametric stadium has been developed, as shown in the below figure.
Next we hide the total group and then we can see the parametric stadium clearly.
The parametric stadium has been created successfully, as shown in the below figure.
RESULT:-
The parametric stadium has been created successfully using dynamo.
