Creating Architectural and Structural model with 3D rendering using REVIT
1) Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below:
a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
b. Office Buildings
c. School
From the above option, I will select OFFICE BUILDING
2) Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modelling. Based on assumptions and the type of structure selected identify the modelling requirements from NBC
AIM: Assume reasonable assumptions for geographical location details for your project modeming. Based on the assumptions and the type of structure selected identify the modeming requirements from NBC.
PROCEDURE:
I will assume that the project is in a plain area and it is a commercial area. The road width in front of the building structure is 80 feet.
MODELLING REQUIREMENTS AS PER NBC ARE:
The minimum height of the basement should be 2.5m and the maximum height should be 4.5m.
As per NBC exit should be provided on each floor for easy escape of employees from the building if in case of earthquakes or fire hazards.
3) Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
b. Columns
c. Beams Connected to Columns
d. Roof Framing/ Truss
e. Floor / Decks
f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs
AIM: Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
Foundation – Isolated/Wall/Matt foundation
Columns
Beams connected to columns
Roof framing/Truss
Floor/Decks
Floor openings for Elevators and stairs
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Open Revit software and go to the new and open Structural template.
Save the file by giving an appropriate name to the file.
Go to the structure tab select the grid line and draw transverse and longitudinal grid lines at 20’ distance.

STEP 2: Go to an elevation view and create the levels till the roof and change the name accordingly

STEP 3: Go to the structure tab select isolated footing and add footing at every grid joint

STEP 4: Go to the structure tab select the column and add a column at every grid joint

STEP 5: Go to the structure tab select beam and add beam between each column

STEP 6: Go to the structure tab select floor and add a floor to the project
STEP 7: Copy the beams and floor and paste them to the aligned to select level and select the levels and press ok

STEP 8: By using the insert tab select load family to insert the elevator to the project and draw the staircase using the stair tool to the project. By using the shaft tool create the opening where the staircase and elevator are placed

RESULT: The given challenge is completed by using the necessary tools in REVIT software

4) Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
c. Interior partition walls to size rooms
d. Components to add details to a room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)
e. Add components such as stairs Elevators
f. Have at least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels
g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model
AIM: Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected

h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model.
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Open the new Revit file with the architectural template and link the structural file to the architectural file
Draw the external walls and interior walls according to the grid line drawn

STEP 2: Add components like doors, windows, and furniture according to the requirement.

STEP 3: Add ceiling lights and exterior light

STEP 4: Add topographical components to the model wherever required

RESULT: The given challenge is completed by using the necessary tools in REVIT software

5) Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
a. Floor Plans with Annotations
b. Elevations drawing
c. Sections
AIM: To Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
a. Floor Plans with Annotations
b. Elevations drawing
c. Sections
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Go to the view tab and select the sheet in that select A1 metric and press ok the template sheet is displayed

STEP 2: Edit the sheet according to the requirement and add the views as per the question
Add Floor Plans with Annotations, Elevation drawings, and Sections on different sheets
RESULT: Sheet templates are created and the drawings are added to the sheet

6) Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images in the drawing sheets
a. Rendering from interior rooms
b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
c. Rendering through structural framing
AIM: Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images in the drawing sheets
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Go to the view tab select camera and set camera views

RESULT: The views are rendered

7) Print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
AIM: To print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1: Press Ctrl + P or go to the application menu and select the print
Select the appropriate settings, select the sheet or view, and press ok
RESULT: The sheets are printed
