Project 4 Windshield
Windshield :
Windsheild is the glass that is present in the body of the car as a replacement for the metal parts as it can allow the driver to see through them. The windshield is normally made of glass material.

Design Requirement :
Gradient Lines
- Printed Filaments in the top and bottom of the windshield
- To hide rubber sealant and metal joints near roof and cowl area
- To give better aesthetic looks
- Also to hide IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror)
- Dotted filaments in rear windshield gets heated up and acts as defoggers
- Most of the windshield has a small sheet in between them.

- The Austin Material is used for the sheet in between adnd the thicknesss of thhe sheets will be 2 surface of 2.25mm and a sheet of 0.2mm and the total thickness of the windsheild will be 4.7mm

- The Gradient lines are present in the car's windsheild id to hide the rubber sealants that holds the windshield with the A-pillar and the Hood cowl.
- The shape of the gradient lines are being made in the specific design as they hide the inside rear view mirror or the rear view mirror that is placed in the car for the drriver's additional view on what is happening on the road behind him.
Types of Windshield:

LAMINATED GLASS :
They have 3 layers wherein two surfaces are glass and the other surface is film of polyvinyl butyral film. At the final stage they are checked for air bubbles too. They are commonly used in front and rear places.
Production Method – Laminated Glass

TEMPERED GLASS:
The thickness is 2.5 to 3mm and it is a single surface. Incase of accidents, the glass gets shattered into several small parts. It is much stronger than the laminated glasses. They are commonly used for side doors.
Production Method – Tempered Glass

Windshield Outer Frame:
Outer frame is the part which holds the glass surface

Windshield Glass :
Windshield Glass is attached to the outer frame and have transparent features.

Windshield Assembly :
Windshield outer frame and glass are fitted together

Conclusion :
Thus the windshield is designed as per the standards with appropriate headliners and thickness as mentioned in the challenges.
