Aim: To benchmark presently available cars in the market for the following case

Report:

Here are my four choice of car for Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii according to his requirement:

Renault Triber:

The Renault triber is a very affordable 7 Seater MUV classed car which was launched in mid-2019. The pricing of this car starts from 5.92 Ex-showroom Price, the most affordable car in the MUV segment. You can get the highest model car for 10 lakhs on road. It has a spacious cabin with all kinds of small storage space everywhere. It has foldable rear and middle seats which can be folded individually which means it can be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 seaters which are good in terms of luggage as well as for big families. It is a very good-looking car, especially for its price. This car also has a 4-star GNCAP safety rating which means it is best for safety. It has a 999 cc engine that is efficient and will give you an average of 20 kmpl but has less power for a seven-seater rated at 72 HP.

Pros:

  1. Practical cabin with lots of storage space.
  2. Good boot space of 625 ltrs.
  3. Tribe can be turned into 2-seaters, 3-seaters, 4-seaters, 5-seaters, 6-seaters, and 7-seaters vehicle.
  4. Received 4 star GNCAP safety rating.
  5. Available with an AMT automatic transmission as well.

Cons:

  1. Engine feels underpowered on the highway or with a full load of passengers.
  2. No diesel option.
  3. Missing features: NO automatic climate control, alloy wheels and fog lamps.

Maruti-Suzuki Ertiga

The most selling car in India in the MUV segment is Maruti Ertiga which starts from 8.35 lakhs ex-showroom Bangalore price. Ertiga is an affordable 7-seater car that is spacious and practical. It is also filled with features like Apple Car Play, Android Auto, auto climate control, etc.

It also got a hybrid petrol engine which gives 20.1 kmpl average mileage and also manages to give a power output of 101 HP which is great. Also comes with the CNG option from the factory.

Pros:

  1. Comfortable 7-seater car for a big family.
  2. Lots of practical storage.
  3. High fuel economy.
  4. Available in CNG.
  5. Has a 6-speed automatic.
  6. More safety features like 4 airbags were introduced.

Cons:

  1. No diesel option.
  2. Boot space behind third row is limited.

Tata Punch:

A Handsome Compact Crossover Hatchback from Tata starts from 6 lakhs Bangalore Ex-showroom price. Punch is a very affordable Cross Over which is surprisingly spacious and has head-turning looks. It has high ground clearance which makes it capable of doing mild off-roading. The 1.2 litres of petrol gives 18.97 kmpl average mileage which is good for urban riding as well. It also has a high safety rating of 5 stars in the Global NCAP rating which makes this car one of the safest cars on road.

Pros:

  1. Striking Looks
  2. High-quality cabin.
  3. Great interior space and comfort.
  4. Ride comfortably over bad roads.
  5. Mild off-road capability.
  6. 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Cons:

  1. Engine feels short on power for the highway.
  2. Dated touchscreen infotainment system.
  3. No charging port or cup holders for rear seat passengers.

Hyundai Venue

The venue is the good looking, practical and economical car from Hyundai which starts from 7.53 lakhs Bangalore Ex-showroom price. This car has large boot space, comfortable seating and high quality build overall. This car looks more premium than other competitors. In this car, you have two engines and many other options to choose from. The venue has to options for automatic i.e. CVT and DCT. My favourite transmission is DCT because it can be sportier as well as good for urban use.

Pros:

  1. Updated Venue looks more butch and upmarket.
  2. Duel-tone interior is classy, good quality of material is used.
  3. Plenty of engine options to choose from.

Cons:

  1. No diesel-automatic or CNG options offered.

Conclusion:

I will recommend Maruti-Suzuki Ertiga because it is the ideal car for a family of 5 or more. According to the budget, you can only buy the base model but if you will go 1 lakh above the 10 lakh budget you can get the VXI model which will have all the base features you need like an infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity but not thigh-end features. This car also has a hybrid system which gives you more mileage and also adequate power then the other cars in the same segment.
