Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II

Design on metal bracket II

Objective:-

Design a sheet metal bracket in NX-12 software using various tools available in the sheet metal workbench.

Introduction:-

Sheet metal is a metal formed by an industrial process into thin flat pieces. the metal sheet is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes and places every day objects are fabricated from sheet metal.

In this assignment, we are going to use different tools and features to design the metal bracket in the sheet metal workbench.

Design methodology:-

The design methodology of the design of sheet metal is explained in the flow chart manner below.

Description:-

All the tools and processes are explained below-

Sketch-

A sketch is drawn as per the drawing in the z-x plane.

Sketch 2-

The sketch is drawn in the adjacent plane as per the drawing.

Contour flange-

Contour flange is used to create the flange required to design the bracket.

Normal cutout-

A normal cutout tool is used to cut out the unwanted portion.

Normal cutout-

The normal cut-out is used to cut the holes required.

Unbend-

Unbend tool is used to unbend the bracket.

Normal cut out-

A normal cutout is used to cut the hole required.

Rebend-

The bracket formed is then again rebent.

Advance flange-

The advance flange is used to extend the required curve.

Unbend-

The body is then again unbent to its Form.

Hole-

hole tool is used to create holes on the model.

Advance flange-

The advance flange is again used to create a flange on the round curve.

Rebend

The body is rebent to its original form.

Gusset-

Gussets are provided on the bent area to provide strength to the bracket and to lower the spring back effect.
