Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II

Title:

NX Metal Bracket-II

Objective:

The objective is to design a Bracket-II using Siemens NX sheet metal application.

Introduction:

Here we are going to design a Metal Bracket , it is a sheet metal component. The Metal Bracket can be created in any shape . And it can also created by using Siemens NX sheet metal application.

Design Methodology:

The process gone through while designing.

Step1: Draw a given sketch in YZ plane and in XZ plane.

Step2: Add a contour flange to the XZ plane sketch.

Step3: perform a normal cutout feature two times with depth of 120mm and 49mm.

Step4:Perform the break corner feature.

Step5: And do the normal cutout feature on downside.

Step6: Now unbend the model.

Step7: Now sketch in YZ model.

Step8:And perform normal cutout feature.

Step9: Perform rebend.

Step10: Select the advanced flange.

Step11: Add Four four gussets to the bend areas.

The process is completed.

Features used in the designing

Normal cutout is a command to cut material by projecting a sketch onto the model and then cutting perpendicular to the surfaces intersected by the projection.

Break corner is a command to round or chamfer sharp corners of a tab or flanges.

Unbend is a command used to flatten the sheet metal with respect to one flat sheet.

Rebend is a command used to restore the unbend.

Hole is the command used to create a hole on the surface.

Gusset is a command which add a rib like structure between two sheet metal. It is also used for stiffening sheetmetal.

Advanced flange is a type of flange command which can create flange over curved edges also.

Contour flange is a base feature by extruding a sketch along the vector or adds material by sweeping a sketch on edge.
