Objective

Objective here is to learn design of metal bracket using gusset from available 2 – D drawing.

Introduction

Siemens Nx which was formerly known as Unigraphics, is a user-friendly design software. Which is basically used for advanced CAD/CAM/CAE.

The command gusset is provided to give support and provide strength and rigidity to the sheet metal.

Part navigator

Description

Sketch – it is 2 – D design feature, it a basic command to design anything.

Counter Flange – this is a command used for creating a tab like feature unlike it can be used for open curve.

Advance flange – used for creating a flange for continues curve where counter flange cannot be used.

Normal cutout – any sketch drawn on the surface of the sheet metal can be cut using this command.

Break corner – used to remove sharp edges and provide with some fillet.

Gusset – used to provide strength and rigidity to the sheet metal.

Unbend – unbend is the command to create a flat pattern.

Re bend – use to re bend the complete sheet metal.

Conclusion

This challenge helps to learn how to use command such as counter flange, advance flange, normal cutout, gusset and helps understand the uses of it.

And it also helps user model sheet metal from drawing sheet.
