Design of Casing using NX CAD software (Challenge 1)

Objective

Objective here is to learn the basic command of NX software such as tab, flange, normal cutout, bead, break corner etc.

Introduction

Siemens Nx which was formerly known as Unigraphics, is a user-friendly design software. Which is basically used for advanced CAD/CAM/CAE.

The command tab is a basic command of the any sheet metal module software.

Part Navigator

Description

Sketch – it is 2 – D design feature, it a basic command to design anything.

Tab – is the basic command used in any sheet metal module. Its function is to convert closed sketch into tab of given thickness.

Flange – this is a command used for the extension of tab from any edge to angle but with same thickness.

Normal cutout – any sketch drawn on the surface of the sheet metal can be cut using this command.

Unbend – unbend is the command to create a flat pattern.

Re bend – use to re bend the complete sheet metal.

Bead – it is used to provide support and strength to sheet metal.

Conclusion
