MODELLING OF BRACKET

Title : Project report on modelling of Bracket using NX CAD

Objective : To design 3D CAD model of Bracket using NX 12

Introduction :

NX is the the most powerful, flexible, and innovative product development solution in the industry. NX for Design has the features, performance, and capabilities to help you get product to market faster than ever before

NX for Design enables you to deliver products “right to market, first time" using more virtual product models and fewer, more costly, physical prototypes. This leads to market gains, lower development costs, and improved product quality.

In this project we will learn the recommended workflow procedure to design a 'Bracket' using Siemens NX Sheet Metal Application.

Design Methodology

Description :

The design procedure of the Bracket is explained in detail as follows

1. Sketch

Draw sketch in XY plane using given dimensions

2. Contour flange

Add contour flange using given dimensions

3. Sketch

Draw sketch in XY plane and make normal cutout

4. Break corner

Use break corner command to make the corners round shaped using given dimensions

5. Unbend

Unbend the sheet metal to add more features like beads, holes, hem

6. Add Bead

Create sketch in XY plane and add bead using given dimensions

7. Rebend

Reebend the sheet metal using rebend command

8. Add holes

Create sketch in XY plane and add simple holes uding hole feature in the workbench as per given dimensions

9. Flat pattern & Drafting

Create flat pattern using flat pattern feature and create draft file on A4 sheet
