Challenge #6 - Bracket

Aim -

To create a Bracket design according to the given instructions and make a Drawing sheet for the model.

Introduction -

Siemens NX provides a set of tools within it that allows for simple and fast design of sheet metal parts. It also incorporates material & process information and sheet metal-specific modelling features. All these features eases and enhances the design procedure & productivity.

Its also allows to convert solid models to sheet metal components, and create sheet metal parts that enclose other components. All common dimensions can be set as default for ease of work. Sheet Metal products are used in almost all industries, thus design of needed components are made easier with CAD softwares such as Siemens NX.

Design Methodology -

Features Used in Modelling -

1. Sketch :It is basic command to draw 2D model
   Points command can create point on the sketch plane..
2. Contour Flange :It creates a Base feature by extruding a section/profile of a sketch along a vector.
3. Normal Cutout : It’s used to remove unwanted material parallel to the plane of the reference sketch.
4. Break Corner : This command is used to round or smoothensharp corners of a tab or flange.
5. Unbend : Used to flatten the 3D sheet metal model.
6. Bead : Lifts the material along a sketch, this also stimulates a stamping operation.
7. Rebend :Rebends the part that was used in unbend command.
8. Hole : Used to create specific types of holes for screws. The threading, boring, etc can be provided separately.
9. Analysis :Tools that can be used to take different measurements of the component.
   Local Radius can measure the radius of a surface at the selected sections.
   Measure Distance is used to measure distances between two point or object.
10. Flat Pattern: Creates a flat pattern of the feature with all the information on the dimensions.
11. Drawing : It’s used to create drafted drawings of selected part/product.
    Base Viewcreates the main view on the drawing sheet.
    View Creation Wizard helps to create customized view of the selected product.
