Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure
TITLE:- DESIGN OF A SHEET-METAL ENCLOSURE
OBJECTIVE:- Objective of this project is to study and working on different features of NX CAD for making of a SHEET-METAL ENCLOSURE.
INTRODUCTION:- Sheet Metal is a comprehensive cold working process for metal sheets (usually below 6mm), including shearing, punching, cutting, folding, riveting, splicing, forming (such as car body) etc.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:-
DESCRIPTION:- Features Used
1. Sheet Metal from Solid:- Sheet Metal from Solid command used to create a sheet metal part using a solid to model it. The solid represents the inner void of an enclosure. You select the faces from the solid to be a panel (web) faces and edges between the faces to be bend regions.
2. Bend:- Bend command used to create a bend in a planar area of the part.
3. Flange:- Flange command used to create a single flange instance or multiple instances by selecting single or multiple base edges.
4. Unbend:- Unbend command used to unbend a portion of the part to construct cutout features, hole features, or deform features across a bend. You can later reform the bend to represent the true formed state of the model.
5. Hole:- Hole command used to add different types of hole features in a part or assembly:
6. Jog:- Jog constructs two 90-degree bends and adds material to them to jog to a planar face of a part.
7. Bead:- Bead command used to create a solid body using a path and a cross-section. The cross-sectional shape you define can be swept along a path over any number of objects to create the Bead feature.
8. Rebend:- Rebend command used to reverse an unbend operation so that the feature that was unbent returns to its previous bent state. Any features added after the unbend operation are properly repositioned during the rebend operation.
9. Flat Pattern:- Flat Pattern command used to create a solid or wireframe flat representation of a flattened 3D FPCD part.
CONCLUSION:- Using above mentioned features I have created this SHEET-METAL Enclosure.
