NX_CASING

OBJECTIVE: To design an advanced casing using the sheet metal application in Siemens NX.

Introduction:

Sheet metal design is a vast domain in the design of any sheet metal industry.it is used in many sectors including Automotive and Aerospace Enclosures, Brackets and other parts are normally manufactured with break press. In this sheet metal casing design, we will look at the design approach using NX (CAD) SOFTWARE through various designs, images, explanations, and images

In Sheet metal Application we can create a uniform thickness of Sheet metal parts using basic features Such as Tabs, Flanges, and Jogs, as well as bend corners, cut out, bead, etc.

The complex sheet metal part can be designed in the Solid model work Bench and then we convert it to a Sheet metal part. We can also import, clean up and convert a non Sheet metal part into a valid Sheet metal part. Flat pattern Sheetmetal data can be used for the manufacturing process. The material parameters such as thickness, bend radii, and bend relief can be easily set as default settings.

Design Methodology:

DESCRIPTION:

Tab:- A command to add parameters of a Sketch.

Bend:- It's an operation to bend the tab at a particular position with reference.

Flange:- It's an operation to extend sheet metal to one of the edges of a tab.

UNBEND:- It's a command used to flatten the created 3d model taking one face as a stationary face.

HOLE:- It's a command used to create different types of holes like tapping and normal drilling, on the Surface of a Sheet metal.

DIMPLE:- It is a projection command of a particular shape with reference to sketch with a certain depth.

BEAD:- It is also the type of projection to deform the shape at a certain point with reference to sketch and also giving strength to the material.

REBEND:- This command is used to re-bend the already flattened sheet metal.

Conclusion:

In this project, we learned about the applications and uses of various commands and features used to design a Sheet Metal Casing in NX 12
