Adams - Front View Geometry - Hardpoint Modifications to reach desired Camber Gradient and Roll Center Height
SLA Front (Double Wishbone Front)

Subsystem Hardpoints for Baseline

1. Swing arm angle and length

Swing arm angle is 5.21 at design condition

Front View Swing arm angle is 2914 mm.
From hardpoint integrated in CATIA

Front View swing arm length is 2684 mm
Roll Center Height below ground 357mm
kingpin inclination angle = 10,008
Lets compare the results with ADAMS

Kingpin angle is 10.08 degrees

Roll Center Height is 154 mm. In adams we have a different roll center height then our sketch based calculations

Camber Angle at design position = -0,07 degrees
Camber gradient = 19.6 deg/m
2. Modifications in order to reach 22 deg/m camber gradient and 145 mm roll center height
camber gradient should be increased around 2.4 deg/m and roll center should be reduced around 10 mm.

Roll Height 145 mm is reached

22 deg/m camber gradient is reached.
Here are the hardpoints and front view of the double wishbone suspension

A lower roll center height is important to reduce non rolling moment of the vehicle. Rolling moment can be compansated with fine tuning of suspension compliance but non rolling moments can not be easily handled. That way handling of the vehicle will be improved.
