Project

Design and Modelling of Sunseeker Predator Yacht using Solidworks.

OBJECTIVE:-

The objective of this project is to design different parts of Sunseeker Predator Yacht using Solidworks and assemble all the parts together and create a realistic view using Solidworks Visualize.

INTRODUCTION:-

A Yacht is a larger, recreational boat or ship used for pleasure or sports. The word comes from "Dutch" origin and was originally defined as a light and fast sailing vessel. Sunseeker international is a British luxury performance brand. A luxury Yachts comes with a wide variety of extra amenities from basic facilities to swimming pool or Disco etc.

DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF YACHT:-

  • Hull
  • Superstructure
  • Front seat
  • Middle seat
  • Rear seat
  • Garage door
  • Propellar
  • Radar
  • Radarmast

DESIGN AND MODELLING OF COMPONENTS:-

  • HULL

The portion of the Yacht that extens below the water is the hull. Anything visible above the top of the hull is eighter deck or superstructure.

Commands used during creation of Hull:-

Extruded surface,Extruded boss/base,Surface knit,Surface trim,Fillet ,Shell,Surface sweep, Chamfer, Extruded cut,Surface offset,Dome,Helix/spiral,Linear pattern,Delete face,Surface filled.

RENDERED Model:-

  • SUPERSTRUCTURE

A superstructure is an upward extension of an existing structure above a baseline.Superstructure consists of the parts of the Yacht.

Commands used during creation of Superstructure:-

Convert entities, Projected curve, Surface knit, Morror, Surface thicken, Surface filled, Split line, Fillet, Ruled surface, Offset entities, Dome, Surface sweep, Delete face, Extruded boss/base, Extrude cut , Surfaceoffset.

RENDERED Model:-

  • FRONT SEATS:-

Commands used during creation of Front seats:-

Projected curve,Offset entities,Surface swept,Extruded boss/base,Extrude cut, Fillet,Mirror,Surface knit, Surface trim,Dome.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • MIDDLE SEAT

Commands used during creation of middle seat:-

Extruded boss/base,Chamfer,Fillet,Extruded cut,Mirror.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • REAR SEAT

Command used during creation of rear seat:-

Extruded boss/base,Ruled surface,Surface trim,Fillet,Lofted surface,Extended surface,Surface knit, Mirror, Offset surface, Revolve, Extruded cut.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • GARAGE DOOR

Commands used during Garage door:-

Shell,Fillet,Extruded cut,Mirror.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • PROPELLER

A Yacht propeller is a fan mechanism that transmit power by converting rotational motion into thrust.

Commands used during creation of Propeller:-

Revolved boss/base, Fillet, Lofted boss, Extruded cut, Circular pattern.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • RADAR

A system foe detending presence, direction, distance and speed of Yacht by sending out pulses of radio waves which are reflected off the object back to the source.

Commands used during creation of Radar:-

Extruded boss/base,Convert entities, Cut extrude, Fillet, Split line, Curve driven pattern, Mirror.

CAD Model:-

RENDERED Model:-

  • RADARMAST

Radar mast of a Yacht are the tall upright poles that supports its sails.

Components used during creation of Radar mast:-

Extruded boss/base, Chamfer, Projected curve, Shell, Extrude cut , Fillet, Offset surface, Mirror, Dome, Revolve, offset Entities.

ASSEMBLING OF ALL DIFFRENT PARTS TOGETHER

All different parts are assembled togather by providing necessary mate(coincident , parallel, perpendicular) relations between them.

CONCLUSION

All the different components of Sunseeker Prediator Yacht are created successfully using solidworks and assembled together by providing required relation between them. And then to give the realistic view to assembled model and different components are redered by using Photoview 360 and Solidworks Visualize.
