MODELLING & RENDERING OF SUNSEEKER PREDATOR YACHT
OBJECTIVE
The main motto of this project is to learn various techniques invloved in modelling a finest Sunseeker Yacht. Unlike gas tank in chopper, surfce modelling was frequently used to bring up this yacht. Parts like Super structure, Radar mast, Radar, Garage, Seats, Hull, Propeller were modelled under this project.
MODELLING
The base of this yacht begins with the construction of Hull model and proceeded with Garage, Propeller etc...
1) HULL
The hull is the main part, which carriers the entire members of the yacht. The entire Hull was decorated using wooden finish decal for its base, staircase. A seperate space was provided to carry additional small sized yacht or any valuable equipments required. Initially the blueprints of different views are taken to start modelling of hull.
Features used :
1) Surface Sweep
2) Extruded Surface
3) Trimmed Surface
4) Extend & Filled Surface
5) Lofted Surface
6) Fillet & Dome
7) Linear & Circular Pattern
8) Surface Knit
9) Boss Extrude
10) Extrude Cut
2) SUPERSTRUCTURE
It manages to seat over the hull model. In this model also mainly sueface modelling was utilized to complete the model. It is also known as deckhouse, inside of where captain and other crew people control the movement of yacht. Hull model is imported for its base surface which acts as scrap to start modelling of superstructure. Once you complete superstructure & hull, Congrats! we have done with half of the work.
Some of the features used :
1) Surface Sweep
2) Extruded Surface
3) Trimmed Surface
4) Extend & Filled Surface
5) Lofted Surface
6) Fillet & Dome
7) Linear & Circular Pattern
8) Surface Knit
9) Boss Extrude
10) Extrude Cut
The rendered model of Super structure :
3) FRONT SEAT
Since it seats over the hul surface, hull is imported for its base. Also blueprints of various views were used for modelling front seat. It gives the fantastic view of sea to the passengers. It can be occupied with maximum of 4 members. Most of the surface features were used to model the front seat.
4) MIDDLE SEAT
Middle seat was also, constructed by using imorted Hull surface & different views of blueprint of hull. It takes it's place immediately after superstructure. It was modelled as way it gives the best outside dinning experience for the travellers. features like Boss Extrude, fillet, Chamfer, Extrude cut were used to complete the model.
5) REAR SEAT
It gives a class look and feel to the family sitters, as it houses cup holder and an exclusive draw to hold personal things. The outer grill like bars on both the sides restricts and protects the infants playing from falling to other side of hull. Like other seats, imported hull surface's help was taken to start the modelling of rear seat.
Some of surface features used :
1) Surface Sweep
2) Extruded Surface
3) Trimmed Surface
4) Surface Offset
5) Lofted Surface
6) Fillet & Dome
7) Surface Knit
8) Boss Extrude
9) Extrude Cut
6) PROPELLER
It provides the acceleration to the cruiser. By combination of three propellers, it gives necessary power to the yacht. Propeller receives the power from the engine of the yacht. Larger the diameter of the propeller lesser will be its speed. Hence for spoty like cruise, its diameter is made as small as possible. Some features like Revolve, Extude, Fillet, chamfer were used to make finished look propeller.
7) RADARMAST
It is a pole that supports the radar. It also supports horn for the cruise. It take it's place over superstructure. Features like Extrude, Trim, Fillet, Chamfer, Mirror, Extrude cut, Split, Combine, Shell were used to construct radarmast.
8) RADAR
It take's its position over radarmast. It uses the signal like X band or S band to detect for any obstacles or large schools of marine wildlife. It is a simple model which was modelled by using Boss Extrude feature. Fillet was also given to avoid sharp edges.
ASSEMBLYING OF PREDATOR YACHT
The modelled parts were imported one by one into assembly environment. There were no any special mated applied, since as the models were imported they sit in their position automatically. For Propeller, Rear seat & Garage coincedent & distnce mate were apllied to get final yacht model.
The assembled model of Yacht are :
RENDERING OF YACHT
The assembled model is rendered for realitic visualize. Rendering is necessary to give 3D CAD model a realistic view that adds more attraction to the CAD model. The final model is rendered using Photoview 360 to give more realistic view to the Yacht.
