MESHING THE CRANK HOUSING CHASSIS AND HUB IN 3D USING TETRA ELEMENTS
OBJECTIVE :
- Import the given models to the hypermesh software
- Clean the geomentry for given models manually using quick edits, defature.
- Mesh the given models in 2d with tera elemnts.
- After 2d meshing go to 3d mesh and mesh the given models.
- Check the tetra collapse elements and fix the failed elements.
PROCEDURE :
- Import the given model into the hyper mesh software, here I am importing the housing model and see the geometry clearly.
- Here there two parts in one model so organise the parts and go for the geometry clean up.
- Now clean up the geometry manually using quick edits and defeature the surafce fillets.
- Defeature th fillets with help of surface fillet option
- Check the surfaces whether it has any surfaces which is more than given maximum element size.
- If any surfaces has more than maximum element size try to remove the surface using replace points and also use toogle option.
- Now set the given criteria in criteria table it is useful when checking the quality of elements.
- Now go to the 2d mesh and select the trias and give the elemnt size of 5mm and mesh the model.
- Now check for any failed elements and fix the elements using quality index>> clean up option or remesh the failed elemnts using mask option.
- After complete 2d mesh go for the 3d tetra mesh ad select the component and mesh the given model.
- Now 3d tetra mesh is completed and check the tetra collapse in tool >> check elements option.
- If tetra collapse shows zero percent then there is no failed elements.
Here I am following the same procedure for remaining models.
- This is Chassis model and I have done above procedure for this model.
- This is the crank housing model and I have done same procedure for this model.
RESULTS :
Thus 3D meshing is completed for given models and tet collapse is checked using the hyper mesh software.
