Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge
Q(1) p-clamp
ANSWER: P-clamp lock cables and hoses in place and help ensure that machinery, vehicles and equipment keep running.
The first process in Q(1) is to load CAD data provided
then define the Geometry parameters like midpoint
then define the part as support
define Entry point and Entry plane
define Base and Exit plane
lets illustrate in detail
after loading provided cad file
we have to define geometrical parameters like midpoint points
then a plane has to be created on points created
then create base plane
then define entry plane as well as exit plane
(in our case wire can be inserted from both sides so we defines both sides as entry as well as exit points)

Q(2):
ANSWER:BACKSHELL:
Backshells is Part of an electrical conductor or other electrical device, such as a cable clamp or adapter, that is threaded onto the rear connector accessory threads of plug or receptacle connectors to make up the total connector assembly.
to create backshell in catia-v5 following steps has to be followed
get the backshell 3-d part
define all the geometrical parameters
define part as backshell
backshell connection point
define bundle connection point

remember
Y axis should be facing the front face of connector
X axis should be pointing in the direction of lock
Z axis should be pointing across the connector from left to right
Q(3)
ANSWER:Corrugated tubes:
corrugated tube is a pipe with a helical groove obtained from a plain tube by cold forming. The number of starts of the helix can be changed as well as the angle to optimize the heat transfer and performance.

To create corrogated tubes in catia-V5 follwong steps has to be followed
get the corrugated tubes 3-d data
create catalogue for covering
Add new part in catalogue
Apply covering on harness bundles from catalogue

remember: Bend radius should be 1.5 times of external diameter
