Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 7 Challenge

 The required connectors has downloded from the te.com. 

For proper placing of the connector i have used positioned sketch and a base plate to keep the all connectors in a same plane. 

Connector placement,

For placing - manipulation and smart move, compass used,

WH bundle creation using multi-branchable command,

Route definition,

Protection covering,

 As per the assumed diameter of bundle, the desired protective cover (COT TUBES) has provided from the catalogue,

From connector point - 30 mm gap provided for covering

Here,

Yelllow color - Wire bundle

Grey color - Protective cover

Continuity checking

Flattening process,

2D Drafting,

  Before doing the drawing i have changed the desired flattening parameter settings. 

To get the actual 3D part representation, i have changed the drawing setting also,

The changes of setting show in the below view,

After the desired settings, i took a new front view from the main WH assy. file. the final drawing view shown below,

The actual 3D connectors, the wire bundles and cot.tubes shapes has been generated in the below view. 

3D color code setting applied,

 Thus the wiring harness flattening process has done and the drawing with 3D representation also done. The assy. files has attached as a single zip file.
