Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge
Aim:-
Q1. Route the following harness layout in the Electrical workbench. Make assumptions for harness bundle diameters. Use DT connectors. After completion of routing do the followings,
- Check the bundle Continuity. Add snap of result in submission
- Add annotation to all connectors. Make an assumptions for annotations like connect 1 , 2 etc
- Check for the bundle warning. Add snap.
- Generate CAT.part of harness assembly and convert is in. igs format.

Sol) Harness layout is routed and connected in electrical workbench, as per given layout

Harness assembly (A):-
Colour Coding:-
Main branch connected to connector 6&10 "Branchable .1"
Sub branch connected to connector 7 " Branchable.2"
Sub branch connected to connector 8" Branchable.3"
Sub branch connected to connector 9" Branchable.4"
Design Layout:-

1.)Bundle continuity of harness assembly, A. this will check the bundle connection, image below shows the true value of branches which means all the bundles are fully connected.

The same analysis is done by false attribute, which shows the bundle which are not connected to each other. The image below is not displaying any object after a search which shows all the branches are fully connected to each other

2) Add annotation to all connectors. Make an assumptions for annotations like connect 1 , 2 etc.

3) Check for the bundle warning for Harness A.
Bundle warning sign shows yellow exclamation mark (!) on the multi-branch able product. And on bundle segment. Bundle warning is also be highlighted as a red mark in front of the bend radius in-branch definition, which justifies the inappropriate bend radius of the branch. Below images of harness assembly A, shows no bundle warning.
- No yellow exclamation mark in product and bundle segment.

- No red mark in front of “computed bend radius” in branch definition, of branches
- Branchable.1, Branchable.2, Branchable.3, Branchable.4
- Below images also show the branch details and branches diameter

4. Generate CAT.part of harness assembly and convert is in. igs format.

Harness Assembly B:-
Colour coding:-
Main branch connected to connector 1&5 "Branchable.1"
Sub branch connected to connector 2 "Branchable.2"
Sub branch connected to connector 3" Branchable.3"
Sub branch connected to connector 4 "Branchable.4"
Design Layout Out Of Harness B:-

1.)Bundle continuity of harness assembly, A. this will check the bundle connection, image below shows the true value of branches which means all the bundles are fully connected.

The same analysis is done by false attribute, which shows the bundle which are not connected to each other. The image below is not displaying any object after a search which shows all the branches are fully connected to each other.

2) Add annotation to all connectors. Make an assumptions for annotations like connect 1 , 2 etc.

3) Check for the bundle warning for Harness B.

4. Generate CAT.part of harness assembly and convert is in. igs format.

Harness Assembly Of Harness A & Harness B:-
Harness A&B are connected electrically each other in given image.
