Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge
Aim: Route the harness and check for the following:
- Check the bundle Continuity.
- Add annotation to all connectors.
- Check for the bundle warning.
- Generate CAT.part of harness assembly and convert is in. igs format.
Harness Layout: Given
Step 1: Download the files required for harnessing and define all of them as electrical components with all the necessary axis system and points for bundle entry and connector connection.
Electrical Definition of Connectors in Harness A:
Connectors at position : 6(Mating Connector), 7 and 8.
Connectors at position: 9 and 10.
Electrical Definition of Connectors in Harness B:
Connectors at position: 1, 2 and 3.
Connectors at position: 4 and 5(Mating Component).
Step 2: Draw a reference sketch to position the connectors at roughly the needed place using snap.

Step 3: Define the assembly for harness A and B as geometrical bundle and route the branches as shown in the given image.

Step 4: Check if all the bundles in harness A and B are fully connected.

Step 5: Check for any warnings in the multi-branchable.
No warnings in both the multi-branchables of harnesses.
Step 6: Add both the assembly for harness A and B under one product and join connectors 5 and 6 i.e. the male and female connectors.

Step 7: Add annotations for easy identification of the components during review.

Step 8: Extract the assembly as .CATPart file and convert it to .igs format.

Conclusion: Thus, the assembly is made according to the given parameters as well as checked for various errors. The assembly is then converted to part file in .igs format.
