Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

CHALLENGE-4

Wiring harness assembly:

A harness assembly, which is also known as a cable or wiring loom, organises and protects groups of wires and/or cables into a single piece with a variety of terminals and connectors attached. The layout or shape of the assembly directs the connectors to the various connection points of the assembly.

Wiring harness routing

A wiring harness routing structure consists of a protector that holds and accommodates a wiring harness as well as a wiring harness routing member that is designed to be attached to a vehicle body. The protector has a recess shape in which the protector is opened in one direction in a sectional view.

- A wire harness is a specially-designed bundling system used to keep numerous wires or cables organized. Rather than manually routing and joining every individual strand, wires are cut to length, bundled and attached to terminal or connector housings to form a single component.

The 2d represantaion of wiring harness:

1. IN THE DIAGRAM WE CAN SEE ONE MAIN BRANCH FROM DT06-6S CONNECTOR TO DT05-08SA.
2. FROM THERE ARE TWO SUB BRANCH AND THREE BRANCH POINTS.AND WE CAN SEE DIMENSIONS ARE ALSO GIVEN WHICHS PROVIDES DISTANCE BETWEEN EACH CONNECTORS.
3. SO FIRST TASK IS TO CHECK ALL THE CONNECTORS ARE ELECTRICALLY DEFINED OR NOT , SO I DOWNLOAD ALL THE GIVEN CONNECTORS AND DEFINED THEM ELECTRICALLY ALSO DEFINED CONNCETOR
4. CONNECTION POINT & BUNDLE ENTRY POINT.
5. AFTER THAT CREATE A ASSEMBLY FILE WHICH WILL THE MAIN PART ASSEMBLY UNDER THAT WE NEED CREATE ANOTHER ASSEM. WHICH WILL GEOMETRICAL BUNDLE.
6. DEFINE THIS ASSEMBLY AS ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY.NOW WE HAVE TO PLACE ALL THE CONNECTORS IN GIVEN POSITIONS SO IT WILL BE NOT IN AN OPEN SPACE TO PLACE IT ACCURATELY.
7. SO FOR THAT I CREATED A SERPARATE PART FILE AND CREATE REFERANCE LINES & POINTS THERE WITH THE GIVEN DIMENSIONS

The first normal part sketching with the clear routing

after this we have to create the bundles

Geometrical bundle and add multi branch bundle

Creted a bundle DT06-08SA to DT06-6S which will the main branch

Similar create abundle from 08sa at 100mm and fron=m that branch a second branch at 150mm angular
