Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

A wiring harness is an organized set of wires, terminals and connectors that run throughout the entire vehicle and transmit information and electric power, thereby playing a critical role in “connecting” a variety of components. Initially the connetors are get from the open source as per the requirement and the mechanical part is defined as electrical part by creating the connector connection point and bundle connection point. After that the parts are stored in catalog for use the same in future. Wiring harness routing is created in Wiring Harness assembly Work Bench.

Before routing the harness, we need to position the connectors as per the requirement. There are tools available for poisitioning the connectors. The best way is coordinate method to position effectively that is by campus movement.

After that the product file is converted in electrical file by using Geometrcal bundle and the bundle routing creat by multi branchable document tool through selecting the two element which we want to create bundle. All the bundles make by this method and for make branching, we need to make braching points on the bundle where we want the branch and the bundle connection done by the same methos as we done before.

Protection covering is two type. one is corrugated tubes and insulation tape. This protection covers are created by Protection covering tool in electrical part design workbench as per the requirement. This covers are created in multiple dimentions and stored in catalog for use in harness routing assembly. Corrugated tubs define on the bundle created earlier and give dimension to the tube extrimity as per given 30mm. Also insulation tape is given on the bundle.
