Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challlenge

To define our connector as electrical following steps should be followed.

  1. Download the cad data files from te.com website and create one seperate folder in our pc.
  2. After downloading cad data files we have to open catiav5 workbench.
  3. start < mechanical design < part design <click ok.
  4. Then catiav5 work bench will appear for defining our connector as electrical part
  5. soon after workbench will open,we have to open respective cad data connector in our work bench.
  6. click file < open option < then select whatever cad data we want < click open.
  7. Then soon after this will open like this
  8. soon after this we have to creat required goemetrical parametre on that particular connector.
  9. For creating connector axis system first we have to select the create axis icon from the workbench
  10. The connector open with axis but the direction of X,Y,Z axis is very much important in creating goemetrical parametres that the x axis is always should be in locking mechanisim and y axis is always in mating side. after creating our axis in our part, we have to creare a point in bundle entry side. then ater creating goemetriucal parametres go to ELECTRICAL HARNESS ASSEMBLY< electrical part design then all options should avalable for defining.First we have to click Define part as connector<and then go to bundle entry point click on define bundle connection point, then by default one dialouge box will appear on screen then select the number of terminations and click ok then no of terminations will appear on work bench. Then go to mating side we already create connection axis now we have to create connection point on that axis click on Define connector connection point define all the axis and click ok then finally our part converted to as electrical.
