Week 9 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section
Objective: To create a complete solid model from the given master section and class A surface.
Discription:
Class A Surface: The Class A surface is a surface created by the designer, which is an aesthetic surface with functional features on it.

Draft Analysis of Class A surface:

Class B Surface: The Class B surface is located on the bottom side of the Class A surface and is created by adding a specified thickness to the Class A surface.

Class C Surface: The Class C surface connects the Class A and Class B surfaces, with a thickness equal to that of the component.
Closed body Draft analysis:

Tooling Axis: The Tooling Direction refers to the direction in which the mold extracts the part. Typically, the mold is constructed in two separate pieces: the Cavity and Core sides. The Core moves away from the Cavity, creating the Dye line, which also serves as the Tooling Direction.

Draft Analysis: Draft analysis is used to determine whether a part can be easily extracted. This analysis involves identifying color ranges on the analyzed element, representing areas where the deviation from the draft direction at any point corresponds to specific values. This enables you to detect whether the drafted part can be removed without difficulty.
Steps for draft analysis:
- Go to the "Insert" tab.
- Hover on the analysis, and click on "Feature Draft Analysis".
- Click on the compass icon.
- Align the compass with the tooling axis.
- Click on the surface to obtain the result.
- Result will be shown in different colors.
- In my case, Green is the tooling faces that have more than 3 degrees draft angles.
Dog House: The dog house is an engineering feature that serves three main functions:
- Eliminating sink marks
- Raising the bosses for height
- Creating bosses on the B surface

Ribs: Ribs are features designed to provide strength to a model. The design of ribs follows certain guidelines, such as draft angles and fillet sizes, to ensure proper function and manufacturability.

Master Section: A master section is a cross-sectional view of a product or component that shows all the necessary information related to dimensions, tolerances, material, and other details. It is typically used in engineering and manufacturing to communicate design intent and specifications to others involved in the production process, such as machinists or assembly line workers. The master section is often included in technical drawings and 3D models and is a critical part of the design and manufacturing process.
