Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

REPORT:

AIM:

To create the Door Trim Lower Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model. And to create the Heat Stakes and the locators considering the design rule for the given part.

PROCEDURE AND RESULT:

1. Tooling axis: First I select the surface which covers almost 90% of the top surface and extract that surface of class A and created a point on the surface. Then I define a line by the type of point to direction through Y direction. And draft analysis through that tooling axis to check the part is in 3 degree.

2. Class B: Extract and untrim, extrapolate each class A surface, and trim the surfaces to join. Then offset the surfaces to the given thickness of 2.5 mm. And trim the extracted surfaces which is intersecting together. A draft analyses it.

3. Class C: created a boundary layer for class A. sweep the boundary layer as a guide curve and class A as the reference surface.

4. Final: Finally trim the Class A, B, and C. And checked it is a closed surface. Publishing the class A, class B, class C, and tooling axis.

5. Solid part: Next convert into a solid part through the closure surface option in part design.

7. Draft analysis: Then Insert draft analysis, pick the compass, placed it in the tooling axis, and used the compass to define the new current draft direction., then locks the draft direction. then the green color surface denotes that the surface is up to 3 degrees.

HEAT STAKES & LOCATOR:

2-way locator: This locator arrest 2 degrees of freedom.

4-way locator: This locator arrest 4 degrees of freedom.
