Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features
Heat Stakes and the locators:
1.We have a oranmental part CLASS A in the door applique.
2.Make sure that the class A surface should have a single boundary then
3.Offset that classs A surface to 2.5mm distance.
4. Now sweep the outer boundary of the offset along with the tooling direction with draft angle.
5.Trim the both class A & B surfaces so, that we can get class C surface.
6. After creating the class c surface now start creating the HEAT STAKEs and LOCATORS.
7.Draw a profile for the 4 way locator as well a 2 way locator.
8.Draw a profile for the heat stake and translate all around the part minimum 50mm distance from each.
9. Do the draft analysis for the class C surface and make sure the area should be clear along the TOOLING AXIS.
NOTE:
1. Make sure that all the profiles should be iso-constrained.
2. Each and every 4 way and 2 way locater should maintain the approximately equal height.
3. Heat stakes should be lower then the locators
4. Each heat stake should maintain minimum 50mm distance from each other.
5. Clearence should be given to the heat stakes and locators and it does not have any design rules but should be maintain design rules without forming the sink marks.
6.Maintain the draft angle for the heat stakes and class c surface.
7. As class C surface is a flat surface we can take the tooling direction directly without using any bisecting methods.
