Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features

Door Applique Design with Engineering Feature

  • First Create Class B & Class C Surface
  • Then Tooling Axis is Created to check Draft Analysis
  • Closed Body is Created for Door Applique
  • Thicken the Door attachment Surface

DRAFT ANALYSIS-Draft analysis is a method of checking the draft angle on various faces of a part with a particular direction.0.5degree draft is given for Locator and Heat Stake.

Feature tree

Heat Stake & Locator-Heat Staking is a pulsed-heat process to join two or more parts out of which one at least is made of plastic. The process is to deform the plastic material using heat and force at a set process time. The bond is made by partially de-forming the plastic part in order to fix the other.

The height of heat stake is 11-13mm, the draft of 0.5degree is given to heat stake along tooling axis. The height of locator taken is 15mm, The Hole clearance is 0.5mm for heat stake and locator.
