Week 9-Challenge

OBJECTIVE: To create a different type of connector and Attach the various parts of the given model.

PROCEDURE:

  • we have a current model that will open in hypermesh window using optistruct profile.
  • after opening the file we observe the given model and it has 8 component parts which need to be detailed observation and we can also use it as a part wise for our convenience.
  • try to extract the mid surface if the thickness is below 6mm, it is not necessary to extract the mid surface.
  • for the given model use the 2-D mesh panel and mesh with element size 6mm.
  • then the complete mesh is created, now by using the connector options we can see in 1-D,2-D,3D we have different options like bolts, seams, area and all.
  • we can use these options by selecting the elements or nodes, node lists, or lines and selecting the required options.
  • after using different options for one surface to another we need to connect with the help of these connectors.
  • when all the components are connected we can clean the mesh which is not proper.
  • we can see whether the 2 components have a complete weld or connector by using the connector window panel
  • In this connector window panel after creating the connector it should be green color, if it is red then its not a correct connector.
  • By this, we can rectify the connector is good or not.
  • thus our model is complete because it all meets and connects the whole components which are given.
  • Now we need to save the file and convert it as a compressed folder and attach folder to skill lync.

CONCLUSION: Thus we completed our model by creating the desired mesh size and using different connectors.
